This essay originally appeared in in 1965 in volume 25 of the Quaestiones Disputatae, which Ratzinger and Rahner co-edited. The version I have is pages 41-89 of God’s Word: Scripture, Tradition, Office (Ignatius: San Francisco, 2008).
