Based on lectures given in 1975, this book first appeared in print in 1977 as Die Tochter Zion (Einsiedeln: Iohannes Verlag, 1977), just after Ratzinger had been named archibishop of Munich and Freising. My English copy is Daughter Zion: Meditations on the Church’s Marian Belief (San Francisco: Ignatius, 1983).
